Very much influenced by Nuggets,\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003epsychedelic pop and garage rock of 1960s America, the album was preceded by two\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003esingles of their Byrds-infused indie-pop; ‘Gentle Tuesday’, released June 1987, and\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003e‘Imperial’, released September 1987. Featuring a number of non-album cuts, ‘I\u0026amp;#39;m Gonna Make You Mine’ was originally released by The Shadows of Knight, and Pete Townsend’s ‘So Sad About Us’ was originally recorded by The Who.
